I’m so excited to start out kitchen renovation! This kitchen has served us well over the years, but we agreed when we bought the house we would spend time living in it before changing things. There was nothing wrong with the kitchen, in fact it’s an entirely new kitchen, and we felt a bit foolish changing anything.
The kitchen is the heart of our home though. We love hosting friends (wow, do we miss that currently!) and I can have the most comfortable living room seating, but everyone gathers in our kitchen. I am so grateful for this kitchen, and how it has served us for the past few years, but it’s time to give it the love it deserves!
Here are the listing images of our kitchen:
Lets break down the official plans for you:
• New kitchen window
• Remove *almost* all uppers
• Organize and clean all insides of cabinets
• Remove tile backsplash
• Install new drywall *hiring out*
• Fix trim
• Remove old sink, cut granite for new apron sink
• Remove microwave, DIY Hood Vent, new range!
• Board and Batten island
• Cleaning, sanding and cabinet painting
• New hardware
• Window treatments & light fixtures
• Dutch door (will be a early spring project)_
+ Things we are not changing: Layout. I love the layout and it works really well for us.
This is a long list, but I kept telling myself that when we are done we are going to have a beautiful kitchen that is more our style. Matt and I are doing almost everything ourselves so while I have a timeline in my mind, I know that I have to be realistic that this may be a couple months in the making.
Now, lets get started! We have items already checked off our list, but I’ll be updating with new blogs as we go along!
